While teaching preschool at different locations, Cassandra has incorporated music techniques with fun activities and games in her lesson plans. Cassandra has also enjoyed teaching private piano lessons for several years.
My name is Harley Herman and I have a great passion for playing the piano. I've been playing piano since the 3rd grade and I am now a junior in high school. As I was growing up I tried many different things to see what would be the best fit for me. Sports didn't fit me very well and neither did many other activities, but that's when my parents suggested taking piano lessons. When I first started I wasn't sure about the piano but I realized how wonderful it is and now I have deep love for it!
My family is very musical so they wished to share the gift of music with me and it has opened a gateway for me to see the beauty of things. Music is now a very important part of my life and I can't imagine a world without it! In my everyday life it's very noticeable on how it has effected me, and I hope that it will have the same effect on other's.
Music is an amazing thing for everyone to have in their lives! It allows a person to escape and really focus on the positive and beautiful things in life. Piano is a great way to challenge one's mind and allow them to get out and try new things. I student taught group lessons for one year. Then I have been teaching private lessons for one year. As a music teacher I allow my students to explore with what they might like and help them grow into better musicians. Every student will be unique and have their own special path through the world of music. I plan on helping them through it and find their way. I am very excited to start this new year of piano and can't wait to see what's to come!
My love of piano began 40+ years ago when I began lessons with my cousin, Diana Shaddick. She gave me a solid foundation in music that has allowed me to play and teach with confidence! In between "life happenings", I have taught private and group lessons for over 10 years! I love many different styles of music, with worship & praise being my passion. My teaching style for kids and adults alike is a blend of the traditional with a creative twist.
My name is Seth Leathermon and I was born and raised in Scottsbluff, NE. I was home-schooled, but only through High school so I still have some social skills. ;) I have been playing music for most of my life and it is my second greatest passion.
My greatest passion is Jesus and loving others in the same way he did. I am currently attending school at Summit Christian College in Gering and am planning on graduating soon with my Bachelors of Arts in Biblical Studies. Once I graduate I am planning on attending graduate school.
I studied piano under Will Baily for many years and also studied under Becky Kuegler and Robin Brening. I studied Music Theory under Nat Johnson at WNCC and have been playing music ever since. I play both piano and Guitar and I dabble in Mandolin. Currently, I am employed by Bayard Church of Christ as an Associate Minister and I also run the youth program. I'm an avid reader, I love to work out at the gym, run, and bike (both bicycle and motorcycle.)
Joy has an MA in Music Education from Andrews University in Michigan. She will be teaching private piano lessons for children from 7 to 70.
Hello! I am beyond excited to join the World of Art and Music team! I am from Scottsbluff Nebraska, but I received my Bachelor of Arts with a music minor in 2015 from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley Colorado. After I graduated, I found out some life changing news, that I was going to be a mother! The last three years I have really been devoted to my children, now ages 1 month and 2 years old! I was fortunate enough to take on a part time teaching job at St. Agnes, and still maintain my days at home with my son. I have decided it is now time for me to focus on my passion for singing and my love of teaching it. My teaching career includes both classroom and performance education as I just finished my second year of teaching music at St. Agnes Elementary, and continue working with Western Nebraska Community College Varsity Vocalise through teaching choreography.
I have given private voice lessons for two years now, and don't plan on ending any time soon!
Some personal music experiences I have include musicals such as the role of Belle in Beauty and The Beast, Logainne in Putnam County Annual Spelling Bee, chorus member in Rent, South Pacific, The King and I, Seussical the Musical, and many more. My first years of college I was apart of Varsity Vocalise, Quintessance, and Collegiate Chorale. My later years in college when I transferred to University of Northern Colorado, I was a part of the Women's Glee, and the Jazz department where I learned my love for jazz! College brought many fun musical endeavors for me but my all time favorite was when I made it past the first 4 round of "The Voice!" What an experience that was, and one day I will go back again; but for now, I would like to focus on teaching my students how to make their voices heard!
In my studio, I will teach from ages 8 and up through the school year, and during Summer time it is open to all ages. My goal is to teach my students how to sing with a freely produced, rich, open and resonated sound- which all starts with good posture and correct breathing! We will discover the muscles we use in our body to sing, and how to support our breath to get that beautiful, full sound! We will study and sing many different genres but the three that we will focus on are classical, musical theater, and folk music. We will explore the many things our voice can do, and just how astounding our own musical instrument truly is! The beauty of singing is anyone can sing! And I want to be the person to help you find your voice! I am so very excited to begin working with you, let's discover that beautiful voice of yours and make it shine!
As a girl growing up along the Platte River in central Nebraska, I always knew I wanted to be a cowboy, an Indian, a horse or a Sandhill crane someday. I have always wanted to share my respect for nature and how we all interact with it. Everyone needs the beauty of art to share the soulful expression of one person to another.
